Guns

Can we go one fucking year without gun violence?

According to my local news station back in Baton Rouge, it seems like people are having fucking field days shooting each other.

Now, Baton Rouge is kinda racially segregated mentally so whenever there’s gun violence, the comments section is pretty much “arrest all the Black people, they’re the ones doing all the shooting with their stolen guns“.

It’s Louisiana, which is like 80% Trump supporter, there’s bound to be some obvious racism.

What annoys me about the whole Gun discussion is how everyone is equally outraged about the gun violence going on but there are people out there that just genuinely believe that nothing can be done about it.

Like, there’s some people out there that just can’t recognize the signals for someone that’s possibly planning a massacre who’ll see Johnny Joe buying ten guns and a fucking bazooka and just assume that he likes guns

The same people that will then get mad when Jon Joe mows down a fucking supermarket without even uttering or even considering the possibility of “white on white” crime or anything about his religion.

The even stupider people will try to find a way to divide the issue with political alignment like that apparently still means something.

Look, I understand the fascination with guns, when you’re a kid, you probably held your finger in the gun pose and went up to random people going “bang bang” and you thought it was funny because people would act like they’re hurt but they wouldn’t die and I guess that thought sorta stayed with you.

And then you get older and the whole “shoot bad guys” logic come into play and you buy a gun because you want to be able to “protect yourself” against people you assume are bad, which makes sense.

Here’s where the fuckery starts.

Who do you consider bad enough that’s worth killing.

If your answer is “another person with a weapon”, you’d be correct.

What I’m trying to say is that owning a gun doesn’t make you a bad person but killing unarmed people actually the fuck does and the logic that everyone should have a gun kinda makes everyone out to be a pussy and I DETEST using that word in that fashion.

The fact that we live in a nation where it’s easier to get a gun than healthcare after getting shot is fucking disgusting. I mean, if you want to go to a Denny’s a pop off a round because it’s Tuesday and you’re not wearing your favorite pants, not only should you go to jail, but every thing you have ever bought should be sold to go into that person’s medical bills and the rest should be compensated into taxes.

My problem with the gun discussion is that pro-gun people aren’t exactly pro-life, they just assume that any and all gun based violence is somehow completely unavoidable and would rather use that as an excuse to do absolutely nothing.

I personally don’t want guns taken away from people but I had a conversation with a few gun nuts about a couple of months ago and they pretty much made it very clear that they didn’t have registration because “you don’t need registration to have a gun in Louisiana” which is ironic considering how they’re so quick to accuse any black person responsible or gun violence of stealing the gun.

I’m not looking for guns to be taken away from people who earned them and don’t go around shooting unarmed people but I do feel like these people need to be heavily monitored because power corrupts and there’s nothing wrong with a mental evaluation of people who have guns and a crackdown on where most folks who are getting guns illegally are getting them from.

The way I see it, if the nation can put a ban on an entire religion and just flat out kick people out of their homes because of their nationality, it should be a breeze to monitor gun owners and arrest illegal gun dealers ON YOUR OWN SOIL.

But then again, these are lazy ass Republicans we’re talking about.

Rather than do anything, they choose to sit on their hands, blame “liberals” and then go on to send out thoughts and prayers to the victims until the next time that they supposedly could do nothing about.

Republicans should be thankful to those people in Vegas because I’m pretty sure a lot of those victims voted them in, and what better way to be thankful than to make sure that this shit doesn’t happen again, am I right?
