Life Update: Georgia

I got some explaining to do but the past few months have been both completely eventful and borderline uneventful, let’s start from when I got out of Corale’s.

So I paid off the car and back when times were getting rough back in California, I decided to dial up Jay to let him know that I’m ready to head back down South. However, by time I managed to get Jay to California, I was kinda doing well so I jumped the gun but I still had to move forward with my plan even though it was unnecessary.

So I bid Corale and them goodbye and made that ridiculously long trip to Georgia but I won’t lie. I don’t do cross country trips so Jay pretty much drove the majority of the way. It’s not like I can’t drive, I just get bored easy and sleep quick. He’s more experienced with these long trips than I am so I let him drive it.

I wanna say I left California early December, like maybe the fifth and ended up in Georgia on like the seventh or something.

So as of this writing, I’m in Georgia…

With no working laptop.

My laptop keyboard died on me back in California and if that weren’t enough, I can’t find my laptop’s plug to at least turn it on with (laptop batteries, am I right?).

In any case, it wasn’t too long after I got to Georgia that I started working at Jay’s job washing dishes at a pizza place. I’m not used to getting paid with tips and weekly checks but I sure as hell won’t complain about it.

My goal now is to finish paying off school (SJVC) and then invest in going to RoW (in good shape) once I can get some “living in Houston” money. I’ve been on the poor part of Houston like twice and it’s not something I think I can parlay with all that much.

I mean, I could aim for WWA4 in Atlanta but I have my heart set on RoW. In any case, I’m not even completely sure what’s gonna happen come March since Jay is apparently offered a job back in Louisiana…while also being offered a management job where we both work at (which will give him more money than he’s getting already but probably not as much as being offered back in Louisiana).

I know the kid is conflicted but I can’t really tell him what to do or whatever. I just hope that I’m good after whatever decisions are made because I need my car to be in good shape if I wanna do the whole wrestling thing.

But yeah, for a recap, I’m a dishwasher in Georgia still holding true to my dream of becoming a wrestler.

Until further notice anyway.

I also pass the time by the Great Courses provided by Recorded Books lectures and trying to build up a writing habit using Goodreads as a vehicle for my series ideas.

  1. This post was so inspiring! I have decided to leave my career in education to pursue my passion in the beauty industry. I plan on packing up, moving to California, in hopes of obtaining a new venture with Kylie Cosmetics.
